Release description:

Originally recorded and released in digital format only in 2021, There Were More Failures Than This is a set of ensemble pieces made with tape loops and analog instruments. Related to its companion album It Would Be Giving Up, this set pushes yet again into the reaches of oblivion, utilizing a wall-of-sound approach to world building, and imagining alternate realities. Meanwhile, the fires continue to burn, even if from afar. At the least, it is an example of a conjuring of a myriad of memory, false and real, remembered and forgotten, left along the wayside or riding along that dusty highway to nowhere.

Packed in a custom-designed clamshell box, of 4 discs with individual pocket sleeves, and a 20-page booklet. Remastered from the original tapes by Stephan Mathieu at Schwebung.

Track list:
CD1 True Maps Of An Unreal Place
CD2 To Stay Up Above
CD3 Imagined Settlement
CD4 An Evening, Elsewhere

Release description:

Originally recorded and released in digital format only in 2020, It Would Be Giving Up is a set of ensemble pieces made with tape loops and analog instruments. Following a similar trajectory as that of Memory Repetitions and Future Predictions, this set pushes further beyond, continuing to utilize a wall-of-sound approach to mood construction, and reflections on complicated grief. Simultaneously, it is a further statement to intensify blurring of the lines between genres, with sound palettes defined solely by their chosen volume. Finally, it should exist as a pure manifestation of uncertainty, fate, and illusion.

Packed in a custom-designed clamshell box, of 4 discs with individual pocket sleeves, and a 20-page booklet. Remastered from the original tapes by Stephan Mathieu at Schwebung.

Release description:
Future Predictions is a set of ensemble pieces made with tape loops, from digital and acoustic instruments, field recordings and foley sounds. With a focus on introspection and imagination, each piece begins with all layers playing, with minimal additional long-term structural development in order to maintain a state. Each piece of music is accompanied by photos, and text written with a shifting tense.

As a follow-up to 2018’s Memory Repetitions which was based on memory and the interpretation of it over time, Future Predictions is instead based on the idea of future situations, and should be seen as a meditation on future events.

All music was recorded with high-quality recycled reel-to-reel tape. It has been mastered by Stephan Mathieu at Schwebung, and designed by Rutger Zuydervelt.

Limited edition, custom-made clamshell box, 4xCDs in pocket sleeves, and 16-page booklet. Digital version includes PDF booklet.

Track list:
CD1 Tetra
CD2 Simultaneity
CD3 Weak Ends
CD4 Nichibotsu
CD5 Caprice

Release description:
Operating outside the limelight in the underground, Will Long has produced prolifically across genres, monikers, and countries since 2006. Predating his minimal house contributions under his given name to DJ Sprinkles’ Comatonse label and Smalltown Supersound, Long has put forth over a hundred collections of ambient compositions in stream of consciousness fashion under the name Celer. A native to America, Long has been based in Tokyo since 2011, where he has continued to expand upon his vault of celestial arrangements, amassing a cult following over the years by releasing them on under-the-radar labels, his own Two Acorns label, and on his Bandcamp.

Memory Repetitions serves to reflect on the labyrinthine body of work that comprises Celer. Spanning five pieces, each roughly thirty minutes in length, the compilation is being released as a 5-CD box set alongside its digital format via Smalltown Supersound on November 9th.
